Planning for Scalable Growth and Enhanced Processing

Preparing infrastructure for expanded capacity and advanced treatment systems

We partnered with our client to transform their facility into a high-capacity, future-proof gas processing facility. Through a meticulously executed four-phase expansion, we delivered more than additional throughput — we ensured reliability, versatility, and enduring value. The project included all disciplines and deliverables through all four phases.

  • Phase 1 - Building the Foundation: The project scope began with an initial buildout of 350 MMSCFD of processing capacity for H₂S/CO₂ removal and 350 MMSCFD of residue compression powered by two single-stage compressors, establishing a strong and efficient base for a growing facility.
  • Phase 2 - Scaling for Growth: As demand increased, the project expanded its scope and increased the facility’s processing capacity to 500 MMSCFD, integrating additional compression and utility upgrades to support seamless, continuous operations.
  • Phase 3 - Adding Resilience: A third amine train was installed to initially provide backup capacity and eventually process all gas through the facility for H2S/CO2 Removal. Strategic upgrades, including flare relocation, improved both safety and performance.
  • Phase 4 - Future-Ready Operations: This phase ensured all 500 MMSCFD of inlet gas is fully treated for H₂S/CO₂ removal. Advanced enhancements included: H₂S Removal units, a wet screw compressor, vent relocation, and a secondary flare system.  These enhancements positioned the facility for safe, reliable, and sustainable operation well into the future.

The final outcome resulted in a fully modernized processing sweet gas facility that not only meets today’s production requirements but is also engineered for tomorrow’s challenges.
