Guiding the Future of Clean Energy Production
Comprehensive owner’s engineer support for large-scale ammonia and hydrogen facilities
Tetra Tech provided engineering support for the development of a 1.4 million ton per year (MTPY) ammonia and 200,000 kilograms per day blue hydrogen production facility at Ingleside, Texas. The scope included the successful completion of the Pre-FEED (FEL-1 and FEL-2) phases, technology selection for ammonia production, and hydrogen systems with the capacity for additional export sales. Supporting infrastructure included product storage, compression, and transportation systems via both ship and pipeline, as well as water supply and treatment, wastewater disposal, power supply, and utility systems. Additionally, the long lead equipment items were identified for early procurement to support the FEED phase, and total installed cost estimates for the new plant were developed. For blue hydrogen production, technology selection included CO₂ capture and sequestration solutions to ensure low-carbon operations.
Powering Blue Hydrogen Exports for a Cleaner Tomorrow
Enabling large-scale clean fuel supply and global energy transition
At the Ingleside Energy Center, Tetra Tech is supporting the development of a landmark facility that can generate 1.3 million tons per year of blue ammonia and 200,000 kilograms per day of blue hydrogen. In addition to producing ammonia, the facility is designed to generate additional hydrogen for separate sale and global export. Advanced technology integration, robust utility systems, and comprehensive infrastructure planning ensure that this facility plays a key role in supporting energy transition goals and expanding clean fuel supply across the world.
